2010 Global drug safety meeting hosted by GHANA

Accra is the focus of attention for the world of medicines and medicine safety, as the country hosts two major drug safety meetings.
The country will play host to the 33rd Annual Meeting of Countries participating in the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring and the 10th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP).
Both meetings are being attended by leading experts on drug safety in the world – from Africa, the US, the European Union, Australasia and Asia.
A statement issued in Accra by ISoP in Accra, said the WHO meeting takes place from October 31 to October November 3, whilst the ISoP meeting takes place from November 3 to November to 6. Read the rest of this entry »

International Film Festival brings Hollywood Stars to Ghana

Accra-Three Hollywood icons and other celebrated movie directors will on the 23rd to 28th of November this year storm Ghana to participate in the maiden edition of the Accra International Film Festival (AIFF).
The stars who have already confirmed their participation include Louis Cameron Gasset Jnr., a renowned American actor best known for his role in ‘An Officer and a Gentleman.’ The others include Eriq La Salle, an American actor and director, known for his portrayals of Darryl in the 1988 Comedy film ‘Coming To America’ and Dr. Peter Benton on the NBC drama series ‘ER’. German flag carrier Lufthansa and Turkey Airlines collides at Ghana’s int’l airport

ACCRA, A flight of German flag carrier Lufthansa and Turkey Airlines aircraft collided at the tarmac of the Kotoka International Airport here late Monday night when the wings of the two airlines tipped each other after the Turkish airline attempted to take off and Lufthansa was landing.

First Clergy Conference in Accra

Accra-Ghana is to host the first International Clergy Association (ICA) conference and Awards Night, expected to shape the direction of the association and the formulation of a code of conduct to regulate activities of members.
